Suddenly at Noon on September 17th, 2004, Light 97.3 left the air after being on 97.3 for over 18 years.  The stunting consisted of songs with the words Air or America in them.  Clear Channel wanted us to believe that Air America would show up there, but it did not.  A new 80's based Rock format called "the brew" showed up at 97.3.

When Clear Channel got word that Saga's 106.9 was likely going to go Top 40 as "106.9 Now" Clear Channel beat them to the punch and dumped WQBW's 80's Rock format and went Top 40 as "97.3 Radio Now."
